About Us

Bestway Outdoor was originated by Paul Rowe of Columbia, SC several years ago. Paul was an avid saltwater as well as freshwater fisherman. Early on, Paul recognized the need for a material that is more durable than bucktail and yet can be dyed a variety of colors. Hence he developed Super Hair, Unique Hair and Neer Hair.                    

After fishing virtually all over the world as well as over 30 trips to Alaska, Paul was and still is convinced that his products are indeed a superior replacement for bucktail. Paul now is retired, living in Columbia, and is able to spend more time with his wife Anne. 

Jerry and Steve Maslar purchased the Bestway Outdoor business from Paul in 2010 and continue to offer the same material as Paul did. We moved the business from Columbia, SC to Charlotte, NC in 2010 and have the capable help of my wife Midge who manages the production and my daughter Lisa who manages the packaging of the products. 

We will continue to operate the business as a family enterprise and pledge to offer the best in customer service. We welcome your suggestions for improvement in our service or products and we will continue to seek new products to improve your fishing experience. 

Anglers can purchase our products in individual packages from retailers. Dealers and distributors can purchase individual packages in quantities or by the pound directly from Bestway Outdoor and UPC codes can be provided.
